Georgio, did you ever watch that Super Grand Prix anime you have? I had never heard of it until last night but it looks amazing. I'd actually like to check out the full series but it doesn't seem to exist fansubbed or any other form other than the edited dvd movie.
We should watch that
Realizes that I now have nothing to look forward to since Battlestar finished
I watched Tales from Earthsea last weekend. It's easily the worst movie ever put out by Ghibli, edging out The Cat Returns. I guess that's what happens when they make movies that aren't by Miyazaki or Takahata. Thankfully The Borrowers seems like it'll be a return to form.
Decided to start a few eps of 1978 Captain Harlock. Being subbed it was much better than the version we'd seen, though I really missed him singing "who's afraid of the big bad wolf!" and telling the mayor "I jumped!"
Level E - There's some entertaining stuff in there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to anybody.
X-Men - Really badass strong start. Seems like it's going to be a lot better than Iron Man was
Tiger and Bunny - I really liked this a lot too. If every episode is as good as the first it could be a real standout show. Super fun. Sunrise seems to have a grip on what makes heroes funny and awesome (they also did Astro Fighter Sunred)
After the first eps of X-Men and Tiger and Bunny I was sad there wasn't more to watch. A good sign for sure!
Gundam Unicorn - Starting to get a little "blabbing about nothing" for me. When we watched episode 3 Ian was working on his webpage the whole time, Matt was messing with his phone half the time and Georgio fell asleep. I probably would have done the same if I was tired or had an electronic device on me.
Gun X Sword - Couple eps in, kinda Trigan/Bebopish. Heard some good things about it. Find it okay so far.
Captain Harlock '78 - I'd only seen like 2 eps dubbed in English way back but am starting to find it starting to get really interesting 5 eps in.
Tried on a few new shows this season. Aside from X-Men (great) and Tiger and Bunny (extra great) which I already mentioned here are some first impressions of a couple of other new shows:
The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
Hard to decipher exactly where this is going from the one ep but in a nutshell it seems that people who want money desperately are given a credit card that brings them to a magical financial district where they have monster battles for money. Monster battles should not be interpreted as "kids show" as one guy who lost everything jumped in front of a subway. I'll have to see more.
30-sai no Hoken Taiiku (roughly translates to "Health Education for 30 Year olds")
A 15 minute comedy show about a god being assigned to help 30 year old virgins, except instead of helping he mostly just harasses in a comedic way. One of the main jokes is that everything is censored. "Even if you censored that censored doll that doesn't make you not a virgin!". I laughed out loud a couple of times so I guess it's pretty funny. Juvenile but funny.
I pretty much just watched this because it's a new Go Nagai show. That can go one of two ways and for me it went the wrong way. Annoying Demon kid does not funny pervy jokes. Not gonna keep watching.
I haven't watched Kaiji S2 yet, gonna wait for it to be finished. I think it's a safe bet (not pun intended) it'll probably be amazing.

Started watching the Supernatural anime. There's 18 episodes out. It's really good! The English dub is top notch. But I think only one of the actors from the live action series does his character's voice.
I tried to watch that. I think I finished 6 episodes and it was too slow for me so I stopped. I may finish it some day. But from what I did see, there was some pretty violent stuff. I remember one part where someone gets a sword sideways in their mouth and I think it breaks all his teeth and gives him big joker scars.
Japanese Tiger and Bunny Blu Rays are going to have English Subs. The article below says to wait because it will surely get licensed here, which is probably true but I personally sorta doubt there will be a blu ray in North America.

Just finished watching the Supernatural anime. It was okay, it's basically just a re-telling of the first two seasons of the live action show. Only two of the actors from the show did the dub voices for their characters and one of them (Jensen Ackles as Dean) only did it for the last two episodes...
I'd say this anime is very missable. They just made animated versions of select episodes from the live action show and did them not as good. Still, if you're not comparing it to the real show, then it would probably be a lot better.
For those who have not seen either version of Supernatural, just watch the live action show because of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, nuff said.
