Just got back from Georgio's!
I (like everyone else) greatly disliked the way the integrated the 3D with the normal animation, however I liked everything else so much that I totally forgot about it.
The new characters were excellent and had enough ties to the old characters to attach you to them right from the start. The re-telling of the end of "New Generation" makes much more sense and is much more plausible than what they gave us in the original Robotech. They seemed to spend enough time with Scott, Vince, Jean, Janice, Louie and Ariel/Marlene and acknowledging the old songs that I was satisfied. I'd like to think when they get goin' there'd be more Rick Hunter, this was only the beginning right?
Didn't think they'd go with a new villain/threat but that totally worked for me.
Overall, two thumbs way up. I want more and I want it now.
Josh, what was the stuff that disappointed you?
Yeah, so this rocked. My only complaint was the 3D, it was very poor quality. God dammit, watch Futurama and take a lesson in cell shading. But overall I was very impressed with this little finale to Mospeada, and I am looking forward to where the new storyline will go in the sequel. It was very much a Robotech show, and did well at intorducing new interesting characters to move along a new story, while keeping enough with the old characters and storyline and closing it up nicely.
