I've looked at that unit before as well as the first Popcorn unit.
Plays everything easily, price is right; however, my PS3 basically does the same thing (not always perfect, but it works)
Plays everything easily; however, it is expensive and has a Blu-ray (which the PS3 does)
Plays everything, price is right, and on top of that has a Crunchyroll widget built-in. (Crunchyroll is a monthly fee anime streaming service) I was listening to a Podcast the other day and it reminded me that I would love to used Crunchyroll but I hate watching shit on a PC and the PS3 webbrowser is not exactly user-friendly.... But now, with this unit I can do everything I want for cheap and use my PS3 to play games and Blu-Ray movies
Realizes that I now have nothing to look forward to since Battlestar finished
I'll let everybody know as soon as it is up and running without any drawbacks
What is the price point looking like?
Close to free:
Connect PC to TV as extended desktop Got a router that can be VPN changed (fool the IP for content like Hulu on the netire home network) Get Boxee software to automatically open on extended desktop to not interfere with main monitor (web surfing etc) Get an IR to USB to make my remote control Boxee software
I need some help/suggestions on getting one of these. I NEED one of these ASAP. I don't need it to support HD or connect to a network or anything like that. Just a simple media player that supports every file type possible. Oh and I need it to be cheap. If you have any recommendations let me know.
I need it for a room that's far away from internet. I've been using a modded original Xbox to watch stuff in that room. The only way to get shit on the Xbox was to connect it via an ethernet cable to a computer and FTP-ing everything onto it. And this Xbox sounds like a lawnmower when turned on.

I chose this one over the Western Digital media player because : - The full-featured remote that doesn't look like a child's toy; - The front and back USB ports; - There is room inside of the housing for a 2.5" HD, to view content locally, or - It can double as a portable hard drive using the miniUSB connection on the back.
